A Holiday Party Activity and Treat for the Kids
When it comes time for the holidays you can have some extra fun with the kids at your holiday party by having them create an adorable Santa Cupcake they can enjoy. When it comes to cupcakes it is fun to get the kids involved and I do this at my own holiday parties. The kids get to enjoy a treat and they have a great time decorating it all by themselves. All you do is set up an area where you have all the decorations and frosting for them to use - create one sample cupcake and let them go to town. Whether their cupcakes looks like yours or not does not really matter - they are having fun and may even turn out a new masterpiece. Be sure to have the camera handy.
Now there are many ways you can make adorable Santa Cupcakes and I am going to share with you some great ideas, recipes and photos for inspiration. I have found that a lot of the recipes use coconut for the beard - which is fine, but there are a lot of kids who do not like the taste. So I recommend for the kids to use the recipes that utilize the mini marshmallows or you can provide both and let them choose.

Form a Santa Hat using your Cupcakes
Here is a fun idea - If you want you can form the shape of Santa's Hat using your baked and frosted cupcakes. Follow the pattern shown which uses 23 cupcakes to create. That means if you bake 24 you get to snack on one while you create - BONUS!!! Just frost 6 with just white frosting for the hat rim and pom pom - I would even add some mini marshmallows to give it a fluffy look. Then the rest will be done in red and for that I would add some glistening sprinkles on top to make it glimmer. This is easy and fun and a great treat to have at your own Christmas Party or to bring to someone else's.
Ice Cream Cone Santa Hat Cupcakes
Another fun idea is to make Santa Hat Cupcakes and you can get an idea from the video to the right, but I would change it up a bit. In the video they used plain ice cream cones which is fine, but to make it more tasty I think I would use chocolate or chocolate covered cones that way the cone has move flavor and make a better treat for your guests to eat. You can either buy chocolate covered comes and then cover them with red frosting and then roll in a fun glistening sugar or you can take your sugar cone and dip and cover them in melted red colored chocolate.
I would also add a nice rim of mini marshmallows around the bottom edge of the cone on the rim of the cupcake to finish off the look of the hat. Again these are very simple and make a big fun statement for all to enjoy.
Display is Important too

Oh these are adorable! Look pretty tasty too. I don't eat much cake, but when I do bake, I opt for cupcakes because I prefer their small size.
