Smurfs Movie Toys and Merchandise

If there is one movie that I am looking forward to more than any it is this New Smurfs Movie hitting theaters August 2011. Growing up a HUGE fan of the Saturday morning Smurfs Cartoons seeing a modern version of them on the Big Screen is pretty exciting and in 3D too.

Of course along with any new Movie, especially ones geared to children, there comes the merchandising. Back when I was young and it was only the Smurfs Cartoons there was tons of Smurfs Toys and Smurfs Merchandise - I know because I had it all and still have some to this day. But now with the new Smurfs Movie they have redesigned these Smurfs Toys to appeal to a new group of fans and have been rolling out a new line of Smurfs Movie Toys and Merchandise which I will show you here.

If you were a fan of the Smurfs back in the day you know that the Smurfs lived in their village with their leader Papa Smurf. They went about their business, but always had the fear of being captured by the Evil Wizard Gargamel and his side kick Azrael the Cat.

The same still holds true in the New Smurfs Movie, but this time Gargamel finds the Smurfs and chases them into the woods. Clumsy Smurf wonders into a forbidden "grotto" and some of the other Smurfs follow (Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy Smurf, Grouchy Smurf & Gutsy Smurf). With the addition to it being a "Blue Moon" the Smurfs enter the "grotto" which turns into a magical portal and it transfers them into the present day. They now find themselves in the middle of Central Park New York. Here they will hook up with a married couple Patrick and Grace Winslow and will set off on some crazy adventures while they try to find their way back to their village before Gargamel finds them.

Sounds like a fun movie and similar to The Chipmunks and the recent Hop Movie. I think it should be Smurftastic !!

The Smurfs Toys have been redesigned with a new modernized look to go along with the movie. While they are still blue and hold all the same characteristics you will see that their features have changed a bit.

For the new Smurfs Fans they will not notice it, but for an older fan like myself I prefer the original look. That is only because I grew up with them and like most of us who have favorite childhood toys - change can be hard.

Some of the New Smurfs Figurines are even jointed so you can move their arms and legs - something that has never been done - so that is exciting - right?

There will be so many new Smurfs Toys coming out it will be having you see BLUE everywhere - so they were really not kidding when they say "Get ready to get Smurf'd". You will find a complete new line of Collectible Smurfs Figures, Smurfs Playsets, Smurfs Plush, Smurfs Coloring Books. Smurfs Books - I can go on and on. Just be prepared because once your kids see the movie they will be Hypnotized by all things Blue, trust me.

The New Smurfs Movie Playsets are very cool and pair up with the new Jointed Smurf Figures. I am sure that the amount of Playsets that will be available will only grow as the movie rolls out, but for now this is what I have seen so far:

Smurfs Movie Escape from New York Playset:

This playset is very cool and closes up so kids can take it with the. It features both the Smurfs Village Side and the New York Side for 2 in 1 play.

Smurfs NYC Adventure Playset:

Love this set that contains a NYC Taxi - how else will they get around New York?

Smurfs Village Bridge Set:

Looks like this one will have a Bridge to the Village, Boat and Papa Smurfs Magical Lab

**Again this is just a small preview of what is yet to come as far as the Smurfs Movie Playsets. Of course you can mix in the old with the new and we all know that there are plenty of older Smurfs Playsets still out there, but as the popularity grows so will the prices on all of them.**

There will not only be Smurfs Movie Collectible Figures of just the main Smurfs in the movie either. You will see all the Smurfs being recreated in many new Figure Sets and Grab' Ems (Single Figure Packs) coming out as well. I bet some that we may have never seen before too !!

I also see there is now a Gargamel Figure - I do not remember having him in my set when I was little - hmmmm.

I am really liking Grouchy Smurf - what a face !!

With the launch of the Smurfs Movie comes this fun Collectible Smurfs Movie Set. This boxed set includes includes, Smurfette, Dreamy, Clumsy, Papa Smurf with bag, Grouchy, Brainy Smurf with book and Gutsy.

This is one of many Collectible Smurfs Sets available, but this one marks the launch of the Smurfs on the Big Screen.

One thing I love is that along with the Movie there will be a new line of Smurfs Books coming too. This is great way to get kids reading - even if they have seen the movie the Smurfs Books will take the kids on a lot more adventures and if Smurfs is what it takes for them to pick up a book - I say Kudos to that !!

I also love this New Smurfs Giant Coloring Book and Crayons that includes puzzles, mazes, coloring and more! The Coloring Book is 8" W x 11" H and features 94 fun-filled pages. Each book also includes 4 pastel color crayons.Make a great party favor for your Smurfs Birthday Party too !!

Any of the Smurfs Books would make a great party favor - especially the Look and Find Smurfs Book - kids will stay busy for hours trying to find their little blue friends in the fun scenes in this one !!

The Smurfs Wii Dance Party Game features a mix of tracks from various musical genres including pop, R&B and punk, and contain over 20 dances, allowing up two four players in Party Mode. The game will feature the Smurf characters that will be in the movie; Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Clumsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Gutsy Smurf and of course Gargamel.

The Smurfs DS Game - You get to play a series of fun and educational mini-games and read-along stories about the Smurfs as they prepare for the Blue Moon festival in their village and are disrupted by Gargamel.

Just wait - You can forget seeing Orange and Black this Halloween because you will be seeing BLUE everywhere. Not only will the kids want to be dressed up like their favorite Smurfs, I think a lot of adults will be getting in on the action as well. There is even a Smurfs Costume for the family dog !!

There is a large variety of New Smurfs Costumes out there and honestly I think they would be fun to wear anytime of the year in addition to Halloween. How fun would it be to show up for the movie premier all Smurf'd Up in Blue?

Kids will be going so crazy over this new movie that they will be asking to have a Smurfs Movie Birthday Party. Not to worry because they came out with the matching Party Supplies for that too !!! They left no area undone when it came to marketing this movie !!!
